Example: A customer of mine, who had running an older scanner (costed more than 650,- EUR in 1997) with a scsi card (without plug&play) under Windows 3.11 (16-bit-system) on a 486 PC, asked me for help because with his new Pentium II and Windows 98 (32-bit-system) the scanner didn´t work anymore ... The customer almost bought a new one and wanted to throw away the "old" scanner. But instead we had a chat ... and I found that he hadn´t installed the scsi controller card yet, he had only installed the scanner software ... the very satisfied customer has a lot of fun with his "old" scanner now.
